General criteria for inclusion

For simplicity, we categorize a subject to be White, Black, or Gray.

White
Something is viewed as permissible (halal or sunnah), as an Ijma within the best three generations (Sahabah, Tabi`in, Tabiu`t Tabi`n), or the majority of scholars who follows the correct aqidah.
Black
Reverse of White, which means something is viewed as haram or even blasphemous.
Gray
Something where there is an ikhtilaf, or difference of opinions. It is usually a new matter that only appears modern time, but not limited to.

When it comes to Gray, it is more complicated and the lines are blurry (hence the name). We prefer to not include an entry that contains too many of them in the first place.

For example, we don't accept an entity (person/group) that has major deviancy in aqidah. However, there are still things to be considered:

  • Whether the entity has misunderstanding because of reasons outside his control, such lacking of evidence recorded during their time or lacking the tools to verify the source.
  • Minor mistake in aqidah might be tolerated. However, too many of them might strenghten the exclusion of the entry.
  • Whether the entity retracted their position and no longer hold their view. The problematic entry of the said entity might be included while being marked as retracted.

Each of them needs evidence to support them, and their inclusion will be up to the moderators. If they are accepted, then their works will be reevaluated case by case.

Instead of doing the decision yourself and taking the risk in the Day of Judgement, it is highly recommended that you consult a trusted scholar and include the source in revision note if you want to include it here.
